It's along the same lines of getting offended by anything that's not straight and/or white.

TOPS is unsustainable and should never have been enacted in the first place. The requirements for benefits were set much too low and are a total drain on the state budget.

I live in MS so I'm not totally sure but don't you need like a 20 on the ACT to qualify?

Yeah... DHH and DCFS.

Since they are spending 9 billion a year to subsidise a breeding program for the unambitous.

White, black, brown. Stop feeding them and suddenly they will work.

Stop subsidizing college tuition for everyone and grant it to the gifted. Teach the rest a damned trade.

While I tend to agree, cuts could have been made elsewhere or TOPS requirements could have been adjusted to make it a little more difficult to receive the benefits. The fact that the program is threatened to be cutout completely leads me to believe that this is no more than a political tactic by JBE

TOPS is a reward for mediocrity.

Set the lowest score at 28. Full ride at 30+

It's multiple choice for God's sake.

When Bernie Sanders proposes free college education - "Socialist! Too expensive! Worthless! Kids today need to work for what they want in life."

When JBE takes away free college education - "What!? My free education! He's ruining everything!"

The joke was funny until I pointed out that is the tattoo artist foe the shop on government.

I'm fat. The legs weren't fat.

I disagree. The origin of tops was to assist middle class families with tuition expenses. It started as an attempt to keep qualified resident students from middle class families in state, as many were attending out of state schools. it worked fine at first. Qualifications were at proper levels and the program worked well. Over the years it got amended and digressed to what it is now. Get it back to its original state, and it's quite a good program.
