So basically they don’t know where it’s coming from. Gotta either be a smoldering fire somewhere in a marshy area just to our west or from the western Louisiana fires.

Very smokey in the suburbs north of Baton Rouge. Locals say it’s from the fires in Vernon and Beauregard parishes.

I bet insurance companies about to create a separate fire policy

Will it be called wildfire insurance or fire storm deductibles?

How about insurance companies just let me know what’s covered instead of what’s not covered. The list of not covered or extra deductible events keep getting longer.

It reminds me of the scene in the movie The Jerk and what you win.

I watched a fire occur when lightning hit a pole near the crossover on the interstate that takes you to the mall. In a matter of seconds sparks from the lightning that hit the pole started a brush fire within seconds. I called 911 and St George FD was on the screen. The good thing is that the rain started to pick up so was good. The coordinates were if you took a left out of Total Wine on Siegen and headed towards Bluebonnet it was on the that same side of the road

I smell it in Upper Jefferson Parish. You can see the smog in the air.

Experienced this in Colorado. Fires were hundreds of miles away, but it smelled like sitting at a barbeque.

Yesterday the smoke plume from the the Tiger Island Fire was from Tenn. to Oklahoma.

It showed on Google Maps. It’s coming South because of the North breeze.

There's a pretty good marsh fire burning south of Avery Island. Wind is blowing NNW at around 10. Might be what ya'll are sniffing.

Could smell and see if from Warehouse District in NOLA this morning. I can usually see the Huey P. Long bridge easily from our rooftop but not today.

Is someone violating the statewide burn ban, or is there’s an actual wildfire?

Probably some privileged arse cracker Trump voter lighting a barbecue pit. Our esteemed governor JBE specifically forbade this practice just this week. You climate denying anti-vaxxers are gonna pay for this!

1) I did not know this was a thing.

2) I spent this morning building an offset smoker.

3) I will still be using my smoker this evening.
