Judging by all the fat fricks riding around on scooters, this only applies to approx 17 total people across the country.

If they're low income, they already aren't contributing substantially via taxes and likely already on some sort of government assistance. Where is the stopping point? At some point you have to quit artificially inflating their quality of life and allow them to wallow in the shitty lives they've had a large part in creating for themselves.

They are going to use that Rent-A-Center credit account.

Renting is not necessarily the evil you make it out to be. It helps low income families not have to worry about major repairs they can't afford.

Yes and there is a pretty good program dealing with houses built using Federal tax credits that allows low-income families to "rent" a newer house at a discount. The maintenance during is passed off to the group that owns it. The one hurdle for a lot of them is that you have to have a job to qualify unlike section 8.

Basically, there is no need for the program in the OP outside of allowing people to buy houses they have no business buying.

You do realize that a policy extraordinarily similar to this was a major factor in the 2008 crash, right?

What if I told you the central banks desire occasional economic upheaval as a way to confiscate property and wealth resulting in more legislation which erodes rights and leads to more control...

But again, keep hating the poor. It's strong on the board.

I agree with the statement, but I don't agree with you...

I'd rather abandon my principles than agree with you.

That's crazy. I really didn't think they were underwriting those kinds of mortgages anymore. But hey more power to you man.

That's very Christian of you.

I always thought America was the greatest country due to us being able, and willing to help EVERYONE and not allowing it's on ppl to live like rats...I guess not

I am all about helping those that help themselves. Welfare is great to help someone that is having a downturn in life but it's abused obviously. The issues is that too many programs are helping rats and give a certain segment of the population no desire to improve their lives.

This program is another bailout waiting to happen.

I have given and will continue to give time & money to special needs individuals and people needing temporary assistance to get their lives in order. I don't enjoy supporting those who choose to exploit the system or those who intend on using it as more permanent solution, which is an unfortunately high % of the recipients.

And worse, it has progressed to the point that a growing vocal group fully expects to be taken care of, and thinks they have a leg to stand on crying when they see people who busted arse for their opportunities to be at a higher level of comfort than them.

The whole wage gap bitching or crying about $15 per hour to put meat patties on a bun is insane to me.

At some point you have to stop hand feeding the rats and start having them take responsibility to find their own cheese.

Yes. Our impoverished are so poor that they live like rats. Rats with iPhones, 50" LED TVs, separate rooms for themselves from their children, central heat and A/C, and a diet that would make most of the developing world cringe with jealousy.

Stop it. "Rats". What the frick is wrong with you?

Well yeah, tons of them, through the FHA program

And the one linked in this post is through Fannie Mae, so only those lenders who wish to pool their mortgages or sell them on the secondary market to Fannie will be issuing mortgages through this program

The answers in here make me laugh, as the United States is the most federally regulated/intertwined housing economy in the world and virtually all of us have a hand in it directly or indirectly through things such as mortgages, mortgage interest deduction, depreciation deduction, rent programs, etc. etc. etc.

The pendulum swung HARD to the side of making it extremely difficult to qualify, now they are bumping it back the other way. This WILL NEVER CHANGE just like markets go up and down over time
