I went to the Kenner Walmart recently and had a phenomenal experience. The store was clean and every staff person I encountered was fantastic. It was way better than any other Walmart I’ve been to in the NOLA area.

The only decent Walmart I've visited was the Highland and Lee Neighborhood Walmart.

I suppose then she is charging for the fricks.

Well, did the falling prices mean she was a good value?

People bag on Kenner, but few places in the state are as nice as North Kenner as a whole. Gabriel, Oakland, South Lakes, Chateau proper, Westlake, and Louisiana Trace are all in very close proximity from one another and all are very nice and very safe.

Brand new Church, brand new Catholic school in 2018, golf course, country club, and 0 crime. Things could be a hell of a lot worse.

I always laugh when I read analysts reports that Walmart beginning to sell organic produce will drastically impact whole foods share price in the coming years.

The whole foods crowd wouldnt be caught dead in a walmart trying to save a few bucks

Even if you put aside the snobbery, it's a hassle. People get shite on this board for avoiding Wal Mart, but you often have to park in BFE, it takes a lot longer to navigate than a smaller store, and you often have to wait a good while at checkout.

I just go to Winn Dixie. I'd rather deal with a few hillbillies than all the "culcha" at Walmart.

I needed carry on luggage for a flight next week, so Walmart has a decent price on them. Of course the Walmart where I'm at is a lil bit uppity (fwtw) and there are none in stock. I go to Denham and the shelves are slap full. Lol. That should tell u something

I find I wait much longer in line at Whole Foods. Those checkers take forever and the lines are always crowded. I usually avoid Whole Foods, not b/c of the prices, but b/c I find it much more of a cluster frick parking and crowded store with long lines.

I tend to do Kroger & Trader Joe's.

Walmarts in nicer or more "put together" areas can be a breeze to deal with.

I won't say I live in a "put together" area but our local Walmart is a pleasure to shop at. Always clean and organized, shelves fronted, cashiers available and a self check out.

I wonder how the (relatively) new Walmart on Press Drive right by the foot of the Danziger Bridge is holding up

pretty good. It's less than a mile from my house and I go there all the time. It's much smaller than other Walmarts given the footprint but I actually like it. Can find what I need very quickly.

Grew up in the woods there. Moved out in the early 1970's. Last time I pasted thru, it was a shite hole. Any better now? That was about 6 years ago.

The Wal-Mart Markets are usually pretty nice, and are in nice enough areas that there isn't a lot of trash around. I stick to those or online stuff.

Gentilly is hot in the real estate market. There is some retail development coming. That shitty shopping center next to Walgreen's was torn down and a really nice looking new shopping center is almost finished there. The anchor tenant will be Dollar Tree. A Days Inn is now occupying some old apartments next to Motel 6 on Old Gentilly Road. That building right at the I-10 W entrance on Old Gentilly Road has been torn down and redeveloped. The Winn-Dixie is a complete shite hole and needs to be torn down.
