I laughed at and dismissed the Wal-Mart threads for a very long time..

But after moving to Kenner and experiencing first hand what it's like, I'll never step foot in that establishment or any other again. My god, the trashiness and overall level of stupidity that was in there..I just gave up on life for a short while.

Winn Dixie and Target weren't that bad

They were like different countries compared to Wal mart

It's more of a general society problem. Walmart is just a good place to see it up close.

I was pondering this last night. Is the Kenner City Brah Wal-mart the TRUE representation of America?

A lot of them can be pretty bad.

Walmarts in nicer or more "put together" areas can be a breeze to deal with.

Any Walmart in the NO metro is probably not going to be a fun adventure.

And where I live Wal Mart isn't that bad. I mean it's no black tie affair, and their are some weirdos. But it's not that bad at all to go there. On par with the Target as far as clientele.

Have you ever experienced a Wal-Mart in it's natural habitat, i.e. rural Arkansas? I can go in there after several days of primitive camping (no showers) and still be better dressed/groomed than at least half the people in there. But at least they're mostly good folk. Salt of the earth.

Not saying it's great, but I don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be.

Granted, I live in a nice town and never really go to WalMart, only my wife does occasionally.

I wonder how the (relatively) new Walmart on Press Drive right by the foot of the Danziger Bridge is holding up

This. The Wal-Mart in West Plano is awesome. Aisles are clean and the employees go around smiling asking if you need help finding anything. I was astounded the first time I was in there.

pretty good. It's less than a mile from my house and I go there all the time. It's much smaller than other Walmarts given the footprint but I actually like it. Can find what I need very quickly.
