$100 for pads? Damn jena

$100/hr for labor ain't no joke either

Dunno what shop supplies would cost $120

You learned that you could've saved yourself $800 had you done the brakes yourself. Nobody's fault buy your own. They didn't give you a quote before they started?

Hell we pay $40 here in Texas.

I paid $7 yesterday for my safety inspection...the mechanics were actually upset that it was so cheap.

Looks like you waited as long as possible before getting your vehicle serviced.

Nah. Its an 06 ridgeline with/245k miles. Rotors were due to be replaced this go around. One tire had a factory defect and sidewall was cracked on the inside. Would've have never noticed if the brakes werent being addressed.

You at least get some Michelin tires for that amount?

Should've done it yourself

only thing i see ridiculous is the shop supplies. That is like 5x as much as shops charge for shop supplies

Agree. No matter the figure, it pisses me to have business overhead itemized like that. Like we're supposed to pay for the grease, rags, etc. used on a job...

You could have done your rotors and pads for a couple hundred bucks at Auto Zone and a Saturday afternoon.

Who buys 2 tires? Hope you put the new ones on the back, where they belong.

You can do brakes yourself. Just need a C clamp, good socket set, and the supplies. Pads are round $30-40. Rotos: $80 for a pair at AZ.

This is why you should always just buy new every 2-3 years. Don't have to worry about this nonsense.

This is true. I took it in for the inspection. Normally I would do it myself but my free time is limited these and didn't want to have to come back on another day and do the reinspection (its a bigger pain in the arse here than in LA). Didn't ask for a quote but figured it would be around 500 or so for the brakes and rotors. Wasn't expecting double.

What's done is done.

... Essentially I was ready for these comments when I started this thread.

Hey man. I got high quality Napa auto parts from them.

Honestly all I can do is laugh about how much this wrecks my next pay check.
