I had cartons up until 4th grade (I think) then bags. The cartons (Browns) tasted better than the bags (Barbes). I could hide gross veggies in the cartons. This was in Louisiana.

No, it was served out of a big portable metal cooler. There were two bags inside, one for white and one for chocolate. There were levers you'd pull which dispensed the milk into a paper cup.
It was almost identical to this one:

I don't care for milk but I must say that looks much more appealing than a carton of milk. At least you can see what you are drinking and you don't have to deal with a soggy/shedding carton spout.

I'm sold!

When I was in school it was just chocolate and vanilla in bags. Now that I teach, they've added strawberry in bags too. I've never had milk in a carton at school, though we did have juice in a carton.

I went to school in Louisiana and we were served milk in glass bottles that were chilled in shaved ice.

surely they were rationing that out into paper cups or something? Our milk bags were palm size.

Sometimes you could get the double bag that the machine missed the cut.

that would be like winning the lotto if you got that much chocolate milk as a kid!

Did anybody else have to put theirs in the recycle bins or the dishwasher lady get mad at you?
