i don't want to get in the middle of you and lester squabbling, but I think he meant more along the lines of you being adopted. sounds like the step dad, will be the kids real dad. but the kid may have questions about his real father. the mom telling the kid that his biological father hates him is pretty low. it's mental child abuse in my opinion.

That is some heavy shite. That's all I thought immediately finishing the OP. Then I scrolled down to the first comment and literally busted out laughing. 
Seriously though, this story is super fricked up. This chick sounds like an epic bitch. Though I guess kudos to her for not aborting. Every move outside of that was pretty indefensible though.

Interesting, I fee I could have this story as well. I was single had an amazing friend with benefits (this was after college). The girl was amazing, no drama, said she really didn't want to deal with a relationship and wanted to be be FWB as long as I was not in a relationship. So we did and one day I met someone I saw it could get serious with. I told her and she insisted she was not wanting a relationship and was okay with it. Said if I was ever single again call her. She moved back home (another state). We remained friends through text and random phone calls. All of sudden she got real weird for her and said she was upset cause she liked me but she knew what she said. After that she went off the grid. Not on any social media, won't respond to a text. I started wondering if she could be pregnant. To this day have no clue, have no way to get a hold of her, it is really weird. I feel she was either right she got hurt I found someone. She got pregnant and is keeping it a secret. Or she just never wants to talk or see me again. Good luck. Everyone has sex, accidents do happen. Hope all works out with the kid!

Someone said something similar to what I was thinking. Don't bring up the mom...people tend to figure things out on their own. Let your time with your son be about establishing your relationship with him.
I would talk with his guardian and formulate a longterm plan...he is actually the one raising your biological child and is technically his father.
I would work on a reasonable accommodation of what the relationship should be in order to do what is best for your kid. No contrasting styles of parenting.
However your time together should be about giving him everything you can be as a mentor in his life. Show him things no one else has, have talks with him that no one else does, teach him everything you have already learned.

Back child support is support you were ordered to pay and did not pay. He will not have to pay retroactive child support because the mother did not seek out the biological dad in order to pay support.
