I think he means that she IS a trash can human but that she is also taking advantage of what the system has laid in front of her with no risk no cost looting.

Those options aren’t mutually exclusive.

As long as there are no serious consequences for theft, thieves will continue to steal.

So this will create food deserts and then we have high-falutin politicians stating that these "underserved areas" lack access to proper food which means the government will throw BILLIONS at this idiotic problem.

quote:

Over the past decade, federal and local governments in the United States have spent hundreds of millions of dollars encouraging grocery stores to open in food deserts. The federal Healthy Food Financing Initiative has leveraged over $1 billion in financing for grocers in under-served areas.

Side note: Shoplifting is not mentioned once in that article.

Target by me was pretty crowded last weekend when we were there. I will say they had a "loss prevention" officer at each exit and 1 out of 23 registers open with everyone else being funneled through self-checkout. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

Why would it? Grocery stores have conspired to deny these folks their fruit and vegetables.

probably sell it on amazon, like the rest of that shite
There was a lawsuit years ago with several stores including Best Buy who were suing Amazon for allowing fenced items to be sold. I’m curious what came of it. It just seems to have gone away.

For anyone that could comprehend the tea leaves, Walmart already gave you insight into this by closing 4 super Walmart locations within mere miles of each other in greater Chicago. That was extremely unusual as there was no real advanced warning. They cited the loss cost mitigation as the #1 reason to go nuclear and shut stores down overnight. A store cannot operate when 50 cents on every dollar (shoplifting, employee inside job theft, increased monitoring/security costs etc) flies out the backdoor.

Correct.

The speed limit is 65. The police won't pull you over if you're going 68.

She's definitely trash. But the politicians are the one's who essentially legalized theft under a grand. Be mad at them.

She is enterprising. According to that Twitter thread she is willing to ship and people can even make "orders" for what they need. She will then go boost it and ship it.

The stupid thing about this is that stealing an $8 bottle of sunscreen, posting it, and shipping it is a hell of a lot of work to make probably $2 when it’s all said and done.
