That was lightened up. Only because this a scrimmage. Next weekend starts the fall tournament season.

The only time my kids refer to me as sir is when I'm chewing their arse out for being little shits.

When my son was young we lived in the south so we taught him to say ma'am and sir. After that we moved to Hawaii and now WA and it gets me nothing but dirty looks every time he says it in public like I'm some sort of a-hole taskmaster.

Respect is earned and not automatically given. Just because someone is older doesn't mean they deserve respect. You can be respectful without using yes/no sir. I always liked Mr. John or Ms. Sue

My dad hated when I said that to him. He also knew that something was up or I did something stupid/was trying to hide something, if I all of sudden started using those phrases with him.
