I never said they did. However, someone who is willing to write off a Genesis just "because it's a Hyundai" is probably more interested in finding a car that's a status symbol rather than finding the best quality car.

This reminds me of debates people used to have over FJ Cruisers and Jeep Wranglers. People would brag on the Wrangles superior stock quality, but if you took the savings from the FJ and put it into the vehicle, you could turn out a superior machine every time.

Or perhaps they feel Hyundai has more to prove before they get compared to the established players in a segment. Just because Toyota pulled it off with Lexus does not mean that this move by Hyundai will be successful in the long run.
