If it happened it would have been all over the news. Every black student that saw it would have complained.

It's really no different than warring a Klansman robe.

BLM is a racist movement that advocates violence against whites and supports black supremacy.

If a student’s speech activity disrupts the educational process, it can be regulated and even prohibited (as with obscene expression during election campaigns for class officers, and the use of school computers to engage in bullying other students). And the courts have allowed schools to adopt policies requiring students to conform to dress codes.

I am not going to be a hypocrite. I don't support BLM in the least bit, but this is still the United States of America. Even if I don't like what people are supporting, they still have a right to do so.

A) not at school
B) kids wearing confed flag, Christian, etc. shirts have to change, so this chick sure as hell better have to.

If she truly saw those shirts with causes and they were distracting her or classmates it seems all she would have had to do was make a complaint. She herself said her shirt was fine until a complaint was made hence why she was asked to change. If the "white power" shirt she saw offended or distracted her from the educational process she could have made a complaint like someone did regarding her shirt and they would've been asked to change.

That school districts have a legal obligation to allow freedom of speech so long as it doesn't disrupt the educational process. School districts can't just come up with whatever rules they want to. Despite what they want to believe they have to follow what our court system says.

Let me rephrase what I am getting at.

IF other students have been allowed to wear t-shirts that some would consider offensive then others should have the right to wear t-shirts with something they are in support of. If that is the case then that falls on the school.

IF its a school policy that is enforced on all students, no matter what they are supporting, then she needs to just deal with it.

I have a hard time believing a BLM shirt is disrupting the educational process. Then again i also didn't believe an armband wearing student protesting Vietnam would either. Obviously the school administrators felt differently.

My high school's policy was either no logos OR a college's logo only. worked well.

And the asst. principal flat out used the "disrupt the educational process" line the reasoning for telling her to change the shirt because someone complained about it.

My high school had khaki uniforms and black shoes and name tags. There was no choice.

Honestly this is why uniforms should be mandatory for everyone.

I can say all sorts of things too. It doesn't make them true. Did she point out disruptions caused by any said shirts?

I'm not sure what to tell you. We have a really liberal dress code at the school I work at and they're banned here because they've been used to essentially "bully" students and create a divisive environment. A school in our district had a fight break out over a kid wearing one. That's disruptive to the educational process.
