Would our lives be much different than what we experience today? Music. The arts. Language. Society in general.

Without slavery there would not have been the need to import slaves to America, therefore; the african american population would be much smaller. Actually, I don't like the term African American, I rather say black.. Because most people consider African American was born in America and have never been to Africa, that would be like me calling myself French-German American, but I am just a white dude.
With that said, black people have played a huge role in our culture. Whether it be music, food, etc, so obviously, without them our culture would probably look much different. How the frick do you expect me to know for sure what history would be like if something didn't happen.
How would America be today without WWll?

We'd have 100% less people asking for reparations from 150 years ago.

We'd still be one of the main world powers.
The real question that changes everything is what would the US be like if there was no World War I. From a transformative standpoint, World War I is far more significant than World War II.

This was not a requirement.

Our economy would not be what it is, that's for sure.
Music would suck too.
But I think the better question is this:
What if, post Civil War, we paid for travel for all slaves and descendants of slaves to go back to Africa?
