Tell her to turn to feminism. It seems to work for all of the girls who can't get a sugar husband.

This isn't most women though. Especially if they want kids.

Things have changed. People are getting married later in life, and having their first child later, with record numbers of single women without children living throughout the country.

I do not remember. This was like 7 years ago. We were a "summit" meeting for work and we all went out afterwards. She was hot, so I started talking to her and 5 minutes later she was crying and weeping about her famous boyfriend and how he wouldn't marry her

If you had just used the old Ricky Bobby line, "I'm as hard as a diamond in a snowstorm" line, you were in with her.

It's very simple. If you choose someone for utterly superficial reasons, don't be surprised when they turn out to be just as superficial as you are.

Oh I agree, I'm one of those examples you listed(just got married for first time at 34, no kids yet).

While all that has changed....most women still want to get married. And there is nothing wrong with that. Why settle for less if marriage is that important to you?

Sure you may have a woman say she is happy without the ring....but have her bf propose to her and see if she refuses. She likely won't.

This. I have met several women who say they don't want to get married but in my mind I think "bullshite. You have someone you would marry right now if they asked"

I have a friend like this. It is so pathetic. He has told her he won't be marrying her and she still sticks around like a puppy.

Friend of a friend had been waiting 9 years for her bf to propose.

We were out with her bf(she had already left and went home) and he told us all he never plans on getting married.

This was like 4 years ago. She now has a child with him....still not married.

When really she should be quicker to let go of a dead end relationship and move on the another guy if she really wants to be married.

Rational thinking about relationships and older single women don't usually coincide.

I have a couple of older single female friends, and it's painful how bad they want to produce children.

My husband came very close to his expiration date(I told him this after we got engaged, it's not like I ever said "you must propose by this date or I'm leaving"...more a mental timeline I had in my head).

He had 4 years to ask. I'd say that is fair

Sounds like a great thing not to say or get involved with.

Yeah. This girl is like a doormat. She can't have kids though.

She's going to freak when he breaks up with her. They have been dating 8 years. He won't even let her move in even though she begs.

Wow. I don't know anything about her or their relationship. But even as an internet stranger I can see the writing on the wall for that relationship.

so yours is a business transaction, not a matter of undying love and desire to be with him?

Here's the kicker. He has never said I love you to her.

No, I love my husband very much. But after wasting 9 years on a dead end relationship in the past....I wasn't gonna be a fool a second time.

I also made it very clear to him that I wanted marriage and a family one day. Never gave him ultimatums but did ask him point blank one time "do you see yourself marrying me in the future, because if you don't...please tell me now so we don't waste each other's time"

His reply to that "I love you and want marriage, but am not 'there' right at this moment". That was 2 years into the relationship. I was 31 then. I appreciated his honesty and just wanted to know that marriage was a future goal of his as well. A year after that conversation we started looking at rings together. 2 years after that conversation we were engaged.

There would probably be way fewer divorces if more thought this way.

He says "I won't tell a girl I love her until I know I'm going to marry her".

He told her he's not going to marry her.

But she's still hoping.
