He missed an opportunity to show how to properly ignite one though.

The correct way to kill a rattlesnake is with a shotgun blast to the face, preferably from 10+ feet away.

I've heard the old timers talk about people who could do that. It's not for me - .410 shotshell out of a Judge works really well.

I'll never understand why people are so afraid of snakes.

Grew up in herpetology, when you've dealt with mambas..common rattle snakes are sorta easy going. Gotta watch out for those Mojave rattlers though. frick that bite.

that requires getting close enough to pick one up...something that can kill me. I know enough to know that I'd do something stupid and get myself killed if I needed to pick up a rattlesnake in the wild. I think I'll just find a new path and leave that guy to his rattling.

My dad used to kill all snakes like this or whipping them with green (not dead)twigs while in the woods. Refused to shoot or do anything else loud that could disrupt the hunt. I'm all aboard the F that train, but that man is nuts.

Don't know what that is, & sorry you take the coward's path to the things you don't understand. You could learn a lot..maybe.

Notice how PETA never protests people killing snakes? Bunch of hypocrites.
