You are probably in the St. Aloysius area for Catholic schools. It is an excellent school. Both of my kids went there. Admission Criteria:

I believe this would be St Jude Parish.

Trinity, St James and St Luke's are all good feeder schools into Episcopal. Ours started Episcopal in kindergarten and we applied for Pre-k but they only had one class that year and it was full. Went to St Luke's then into Episcopal.

It is expensive but we like it as do the kids and we all are involved as are most parents.

Aloysius is a great school but it's a hard Catholic school to get into.

I know of newly weds in BR that already donate to a few schools and they aren't even expecting, nor have any plans in the near future that I know of. They just want to be covered when it happens. It's definitely overkill, but that's how serious some people take it.

It's not difficult to get into one of the Catholic elementary schools so long as you're a parishioner. They are all pretty good schools.

Yup. I think it is 10x more important where your child goes to high school. Figure out where you want them to go to high school and that will tell you where you need to send them for elementary school.

This is true. Crossing parishes is where you encounter problems. And to be honest Catholic schools are not that expensive and most are good.

when you apply has nothing to do with getting in where my kids go, it's similar to this:

1. siblings of enrolled kids
2. siblings of alumni/children of alumni
3. children of faculty/staff
4. children of active donating members of the church
5. children of active donating members of other catholic churches
6. general public

Are the only private schools in BR catholic? Are there no non-religious affiliated schools to consider where attending mass and donating money wouldn't play a factor? Plenty of those in Ga but the ones in Atlanta like Lovett, Westminster, pace Academy and Woodward are all high $$$$. Many Christian school options that are much cheaper also than catholic school around here.

St. Jude or St. George Parish. Other private schools to consider are Lab School/U High or the International School.

Great suggestions. I will look into these.

Join the church somewhere and attend. It's not that difficult.

University Club is in St. George Parish. Waiting list a mile long. If you try to go elsewhere, you have to pay out of parish fees which are considerable and in parish kids get precident. You are looking at roughly $450 monthly at St. George.
