You just have no sensitivity.

I have PTSD and still have nightmares from that Navy doc at MEPS grabbing my nuts and telling me to turn my head and cough.

The trauma of the pre-enlistment physical is real.

the fact still remains that PP was selling baby parts for profit. I'm all for pushing an anti-baby-part-selling agenda.

These babies are getting aborted. It's not pretty, but not everyone makes every choice clearly. The same people that cry about abortions also cry that they have to pay for these families when they go on welfare. Honestly, you should be pleased that abortion is legal. Less hungry mouths to feed from your red-blooded, hard-working American pocket.

Also, PP does a shite-ton more than abortions. They cure STI's, give out condoms and provide birth control. They provide referrals for mammograms and reproductive system cancer screenings for people that may not be able to afford it (or even know what the frick these things are) otherwise.

I know it's easy to look at the people that are helped by Planned Parenthood and just yell out "Haha, you're poor, frick you!" or "Haha, sluts!", but they are people, too. Maybe not your preferred kind of person, but this kind of access improves quality of life across the board.

The research being done with the fetal tissue (which would otherwise just be tossed into the trash bin...baby still dead....no difference) will be groundbreaking. It's an ugly topic, but why not make the best out of it?

I will point out I found it interesting that one of the investigating prosecutors was actively involved with Planned Parenthood and only recently revealed it and separated herself from the case.

Well, you might find that interesting but it's likely inconsequential. A grand jury in Harris County consists of TWELVE people.

I'm not surprised that you and others here would downplay the seriousness of polio in the 50's and 60's and thereby implicitly mock its victims.

I'm going to take heat for this, I know. I'll be seen as taking Rex's side and defending PP. But when this all came out, I watched the full videos. It was a big deal and I didn't want to be influenced by highlights without context. I posted this on the Poli Board earlier today.

The edited videos were propaganda. The raw videos made it obvious. The only thing that was possibly illegal in the raw videos was the very first doc in the very first video who describes a procedure that could be used to save more brain tissue. I said that from day one. And I wanted her investigated.

The rest is a joke. The actors try to get these doctors to negotiate price and they say multiple times that it's not important, they'll get them in touch with their administration, or that they simply don't know and will go with what other clinics/hospitals around the area are taking. For example, one doctor who has no clue about prices, says $50 per procedure after the actors spend 30 minutes trying to make her give them a price point... The actors laugh and so No Way! OMG. That's way too low! And, as buyers, try to drive the price up!! And still the doc says they're not in it for money and will just take whatever the procedure costs are. Doc should have picked up on the scam then. Of course, this was right before she makes a tactless joke about buying a Lamborghini which is what everyone focused on out of the 2 hour video.

What this comes down to is separating emotion with what's legal. Again, I am against abortion and the role PP plays. However, what is taking place is no different than the reimbursement a doctor or hospital would get when they remove organs from an organ doner. They don't perform those services/storage for free either. And they have to negotiate a price with middlemen who get the organs to those who need it or to research facilities.

And I'm not surprised that you're so obtuse that you can't see that the only thing being mocked here is YOU.

What is embarrassing about this? Anyone with a brain realizes what occurred here.

It is pretty astounding that a grand jury (in Texas of all places) convened to look into PP ends up indicting the pro-lifers instead. If I were pro-life it would sting for sure.

well Houston elected SJL and Annise Parker, but rejected the stupid HERO Act. They're a strange group.

Well, I am pro-life. Pretty clear what that means.

PP is for "women's health" WTF does that entail?

i agree with your sentiment whole heartily on some facets.

the problem i have is that PP will never and i mean NEVER advocate abstinence or adoption as viable options. i don't care if you cure cancer, stop STDs, and create world peace... you actively, as an organization advocate ending a life to create convenience and hide it behind "choice."

there's just no way that i can compartmentalize that part of their services away from the good that they do when there are viable other alternatives.

Obamacare took care of all these issues so it sounds like PP isn't needed anymore since Women's Health isn't a problem.

I really wish they would just come out once and say "We support a woman's right to abort a fetus when she wants." I used fetus, because there's not a chance in hell they say child.
