I went at 3 and remember parts of it. To me that's the perfect age to start. That way you get to experience all parts of Disney as you age. If you wait till 6-7 you're already too old for some things. It's tricky when your have a second kid because your older one has to wait a few years to go again usually.

From a parent's perspective, that means 2 trips with the same kid. I had a convention in Orlando when #1 was that age so it was a no-brainer then but then had to take the Disney nutkick again when he was 10 because he didn't remember shite from the first trip. The good thing is we were big in baseball back then and went to see the Astros when they were good as a break from the mouse. Also did Universal, which was pretty cool.
#2 daughter went last year at age 5. Hoping that is my last time till I have grandkids.

8 months. Loved it.

Took our daughter last year for her 5th birthday, and she still talks in great detail about that one day we spent at Magic Kingdom. We'll probably go again in 4 years when our son turns 5. We took them on a Disney Cruise earlier this month for her 6th birthday, and that was more fun for the whole family than going to Disney. There's a ton of stuff to do on the boat and the Castaway Cay island is pretty nice. Water was a bit cool still, but I still got out and swam with her. I got her a tube to float around in, and the current started taking her out and she freaked out. I realized how bad shape I'm in for swimming as I was going out to get her. I can run and bike pretty well, but that about killed me. Might have been the 2nd 6-pack bucket of beer that I was going through though.

40 inches is the magic height. They will be able to ride almost everything there with the exception of 3 or 4 rides that would scare them shitless anyway.

2 year old will love it but 11 month old will just be business as usual, with some extra smiles, giggles and oohs and ahhs.

My kids were 4 and 6 I believe. They both absolutely loved everything except the characters. My daughter loved them and my son (4) was terrified of them at first. Toward the end of the trip he was fine.

Yeah, my girl was 41 or 42 inches when we went. The only thing she couldn't get on was Space Mountain, and that would have scared her anyways. And my wife was almost 6 months pregnant, so she couldn't ride much anyways except for the little kiddie stuff. It worked out well because I could stick them on a kiddie ride and then go get some fastpasses for other things and get back before they got through the line. And while we were riding one of the big rides, my wife would go get fastpasses for another one.
In fact, she got the most scared on the Stitch ride. When the lights went out it was pitch black in there, then strobe lights, then water spraying all around. She was terrified, but nothing we could do but hold on until it was over.
I did get her to ride Thunder Mountain with me, right as the fireworks show was starting. That was pretty cool to watch them as you were riding up that first big hill before it drops you.

Youngest was 4 when we went. I would never ever suggest someone with a kid still in diapers go or even under 3 because of all the issues with nap time and carrying the extra stuff around.
Just seems like it turns into alot of work at that point.

It depends on how patient you and your kid are in my opinion. Lots of walking and waiting and it can get hot. I saw lots of small kids crying, whining or parents sitting in the shade with them while they slept. The days are long and there are things going on late at night, especially the fireworks. Plus many parents were pushing around small kids in a stroller so they had to deal with that. Mine was 10 and I'm glad I waited.

If my dad was alive he would say that his son, "me" was 39 the first time to Disney.

Absolutely agree. My son was 9 and i think that was perfect. At 10, the prices of admission and meal plans go up to adult prices.
