Go ahead and create at the very least a temporary access panel. Drywall patching is going to be much less expensive then any other route. Go buy or rent a inspection camera and drill a hole through the cabinent into the Jacuzzi area.

A acess panel was created under my tub by cutting drywall and placing a AC vent in the hole. It's used by the pest people to check for termite damage.

ironically, I live in Tthe Woodlands, but in the DFW area, even these McMansions are built using the cheapest materials and fixtures the builder can find, I've done quite a bit of building and house flipping and I'd feel guilty using this low grade crap, you might go to a construction site where spec homes are being built, everything is subbed out, talk to a few of the plumbers/carpenters and see if they'll come a take a look at it, they'll all be Mexican more than likely, but they're usually pretty good craftsmen
