Around $2k for the Pirelli P--Zero and around $3k for the Michelin Sport Cup 2...I go back and forth depending on season.

Not a Pirelli fan, had them on my Turbo S. My R8 has the Conti sport 6 and they are ok. I think the M2 has pirellis also but soon as both sets wear out i'll be going to PS4S. You are a brave man running Cup 2's 24/7. Can get pricey. How are they in the rain? If you need a good installer on the Northshore, Pelligrini Performance is great.

What size/car? Not aware of a combo that should cost over ~2K for PSC2s. Maybe one of the odd OE specific sets?

I get the best tires I can buy because me and my family are pretty damn important, and they are worth the extra money in the long run.

I'll scrimp on a lot of things, tires aren't one of them. I spend what I need to.

I find that almost invariably, the first set on my vehicles lasts 75,000 and everything after that only lasts 30,000 or so due to front end wear, etc. I now just replace with whatever the stock tire was, which is something like General tires costing about $135 each.

They hit me up for about a grand every time. And that's buying online and taking them somewhere to get mounted. I pretty much only buy BFG/Toyo/Michelin.

I run boggers on my truck. Last about 10k miles. About 1300 with install. Couldn't be happier.

They sound good with my dual exhaust and 2 12s in the back.

True.

My daily perf tire has always been PS2s but the Super Sport and PS4S are interesting just not sure how they compare in dry grip.

I used to run the Cup tires until I broke down and started keeping track tire/wheels and just run pre-heat cycled 888s. I save money due to the wear on Cups, plus the Cups get really hairy in any sort of significant rain. About 8 years ago I did a 180 in the road going to work when I hit a puddle at VERY sane speeds. I was done with Cups on the road.

The only time I have 4 new tires is right after I buy a car. After that it’s right sides only. Saves a lot of time.

While price is important, what I think deserves as much consideration is the correct application of tire to vehicle. Too many people overspend on tires that they will never get all of the true performance out of because of the design limitations or poor condition of chassis components on their vehicle.
Not saying buy cheap, but buy smart.
