I am quite sure it was in the thousands. I was drinking in bars in New York (drinking age was 18) and was going to bars from the time I was 16. Got my license at 17 on September 10, 1968. Drinking and driving was a sport.

I had 1 DWI in 1983. I blew a .16 and passed all of the field sobriety tests. But I reeked of alcohol. If someone blows that now in Virginia it's a non-discretionary, mandatory 5 days in jail.

My last time driving drunk was sometime in early November 1995. I quit drinking thereafter -- so, it's going on 22 years.

As I said, when I started drinking, drinking and driving was a sport. Now (and for many years) is is socially unacceptable - as it should be.

To quit, did you go to the meetings or just quit?

I clearly had a problem with alcohol and ended up in meetings quite against my will. It took me some time to appreciate that AA saved my life.

There have only been two or three times where I am still ashamed of myself for driving. I'm grateful/fortunate that nothing happened. I learned my lesson - never again.

Over .08? That's probably happened a lot on accident, honestly. I'm much more careful now.

Because you are more relaxed and not thinking about the technique as much.

Clearly good attributes when driving.

If you have good speech let them know your eyes bounce

Problem is they then know you know they are looking for it which means you are experienced.

From what I heard you are going to jail if eyes bounce

Probably 1000 times about. 90% of those were like 20 years ago. Never caught. Usually probably only slightly over the limit.

Don't follow the pen all the way over. Tell them it's as far as you can see it and stop short.

Have you never had a drink and driven. Even just one? You would be surprised how low that bar is or that a breathilizer is built for 175 pound man

I was pretty surprised how little it takes to blow over the limit when I had my own breathalyser.

Too many til I had a terrible wreck that I was lucky to survive. And the subsequent legal hassle was enough to stop that shite.

This was over 10 yrs ago

Stupid question. This is the OT. We're banging swimsuit models in the limousine while our chauffeur handles the plebian task of driving.
