13, maybe 14.
Will this put an end to the conservatives' paranoia and hysteria? Probably not.

Despite blog posts and social media rumors indicating that thousands of Syrian refugees had already arrived in the New Orleans area, the U.S. State Department reported only 14 Syrian nationals have resettled in Louisiana since Jan. 1.
The State Department's Refugee Processing Center handled three cases, settling seven refugees in Kenner, six in New Orleans and one in Baton Rouge, a spokesperson said.
Seven Syrian refugees arrived in Louisiana in April, and another resettled in June. Six more refugees arrived in November, according to processing center data.

Why is it so wrong for the program to face scrutiny? Or the people who participate?
I would argue that being skeptical and on your guard does more good than simply trusting the government.

How many would it take to wreak havoc on a concert hall, arena, etc.?

I understand these people will face extensive checks. And good. If they pass them, I'm okay with them coming and starting a new, productive life. But I will not want or expect people to let this happen without extreme prejudice. Knowing that these people will be under a microscope means the outcome will likely be nothing newsworthy. All the better.

poor Muslim people are the backbone of every great society.

Why are there any? Seriously. Why is the United States going to efforts to bring refugees from the other side of the globe? I just don't see the logic in this. Did people suffering after Katrina get transported to Switzerland?
Does this mean every time ISIS or some other group wants to wreck shop in some country, that the citizens of that country just leave? How about the men in Syria buck up and start fighting.
