I was born in the U.S. so I am native American. American Indian is something else.

If you were born here, you are as native as anyone else.

A McDonald's in Sherman, Texas had a huge mural of an Indian chief (and it was well done). Someone added, using perfect and professional lettering, "Big Chief bullshite" under the painting. It was there for about six months.

You aren't Native American. It was a popularity contest for families to claim it.

My wife is an odawa of the

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians is a federally recognized Native American tribe of Odawa. A large percentage of the more than 4000 tribal members continue to reside within the tribe's traditional homelands on the northwestern shores of the state of Michigan's Lower Peninsula

I'm not native American nor could I ever be mistaken for it.

Nobody is, minus a few pockets in TN/NC. The injuins were corralled and shipped off. And we did a damn good job of getting them off our land. Whites at the time looked at them as subhuman, and didnt mix DNA.

Well, that's not true. It was supply and demand. What do you think happened when there were not enough white women in areas of the frontier?

I have one Creek ancestor and one Choctaw ancestor (both legit documented) but both are from the mid to late 1700s, so I’m pretty sure their genes have been phased out by now.

EDIT: I’m obviously white as hell but my younger brother is olive color year round. He got so dark in the summer, the neighborhood kids started calling him Mogly. Weird genes we have.
Possibly you and your brother don’t have the same father?

Maybe his biological father was East Indian-
