I went in December one year. The museums were mostly empty. Had no wait time.

I always tell people. If you want to see the museums in Paris go in the winter time when there are not many tourist, you will have no lines.

I have been back to France in the spring and summer and enjoyed all the outdoor activities. It’s the only way to do it, if you want to go there.

I wouldn't stand in line to got the louvre in general. But I'm not an art person and would much rather spend my time and money outdoors

I can honestly say that a painting has never moved me in any way. The most it will ever get from me is “Hmm. That’s kinda cool.”

Waste of time. Would not wait in line.

I didn’t wait in line at all to see it. It’s just a room full of Chinese tourists taking photos of a surprisingly small painting. You can just sort of elbow your way to the front.

It really was a bit disappointing. I wouldn't do it again. It's one of those things you do just so you did it. It was really boring actually.

I don't remember waiting at all. There were maybe 15 people milling about it when I went one August.

It’s actually quite tiny too.

I’ve seen pictures of it. Why would I need to see the actual painting? Art is one thing that doesn’t change when viewed in real life vs online. I have zero appreciation for it honestly. Having something to hang in your house is one thing but viewing it in a museum has no awe for me. Most of what is viewed as amazing art really isn’t anything special.

I've seen pictures of it. I don't need to stand in line to see it again.

This really just not true even in the slightest.

I did it about a month ago. We only stood in line for about 10 minutes. It wasn’t even close to the most impressive thing in the Louvre. Wouldn’t wait longer than 30 min for it.

It's a painting that has been photographed so many times you can find it with little effort.

That said, I don't feel the need to look at it in person even if I could simply walk up on it with no line at all.

Less than tree fiddy, unless beer of flowing. Then perhaps 5 mins.

I saw it in the 90s, no line back then. TBH, there are so much more impressive artworks at the Louvre. Also went to the Moulin Rouge while there.

There are more impressive artworks in the same room that hardly have anyone looking at them.

This is the dumbest fricking thing I've read on this site all week, and I read where the poster Oysterpoboy didn't think water in the oceans contributed to rain because it was saltwater.

Not long. There's plenty of other great art at the Louvre that would occupy you days and days or longer. Nice painting but has become a tourist trap unfortunately more than anything

Went to the arms and armor section and the Greek/roman/egyptian wings and had a much better time.

Now that sounds more up my alley.

Little do people know that it's a replica on display!
