How long before an accident shows up in the vehicle history report?

Wife was in a fender bender last year in May which was her fault. Our insurance paid for the repairs. Now we are trying to sell the car and just ran a Carfax report and it came clean with no accidents reported or salvage/rebuilt title. It shows a clean history.

Just wondering if a certain time has to elapsed for the accident to show up in the Carfax report? Could the incident still make it into the Carfax report in the future?

The real question here is why were you letting your woman drive.

I assumed the accident was because she escaped the kitchen and didn't have shoes.

totally dependent on when (if)the accident is reported to Carfax...if no one wants to report an accident or repair to them, it simply doesn't get put in their database.

If a claim was paid by an insurance company it will eventually make it's way onto Carfax.

Carfax is probably 50% accurate.

They rely on agencies and cops to report stuff so draw your own conclusions.

Not really. Insurance Co. and adjusters don't give a shite about Carfax. Why fill out some form for Carfax to make money.

my insurance agent told me that it cost the company something like $30-$50 a pop to run full checks on the driver/vehicle, that multiplied by the number of policy holders would put a pretty good "dent" in the bottom line if they were to constantly do the checks
