How early to show up for Metairie parades on Tuesday?

Never been on Mardi Gras day. Parades start at 10. What time should we try to show up? Any suggestions on where to set up? TIA

Depends on where you are going and how close you want to be to the front. You could probably get out there at 6 or 7 and be within the first few rows if you are on Vets not near the stands.

Monday night after the night parade to get a good spot. You also have to stay with your stuff or the parish will throw it away.

Go at the beginning of the route at 9. You're fine.

Thanks for the info. Kiddos won't be up to make it to new orleans that early. Went to the new orleans parades last weekend and had a blast. Just wondering if we would be able to make it to metairie in time for parades without messing up the kids schedule too much.
