not nearly as dumb as it is for for high school students to have to pay. Student drivers save schools tens of thousands of dollars on buses and drivers, yet schools charge students, not to mention school is required.

Well, where I work, the hospital will validate your parking ands it's free that way. Otherwise there's a fee for parking. The hospital is next to a few museums, city hall
, etc so I imagine that it does prevent people from just parking for free for non hospital related events.

There's are places outside of Brusly where land is at a premium.
It isn't the job of hospitals to accommodate the family. Their job is to make the patient well.

UMC in Jackson has free parking in the employee lot and if you have an appointment or surgery they will validate your parking ticket so you can leave w\o paying. If they didn't charge for parking, all the employees would just park in the garages and there would be no where for the patients to park. It sucks but I am not sure there's any better way to do it.
