How does anyone else deal with pathetic in laws?

Sometimes I’m amazed at how my in laws gave birth to my wife, no pics.
Mother in law got fricking blackout drunk yesterday at a family get together, she’s 69 (nice) and was the only person drunk. Everybody noticed and was quite frankly embarrassed. We have a 5 month old son, she kept wanting to hold him but I avoided her the whole time. Not only out of embarrassment but fear of her tripping with him or dropping him cause she was wasted. My wife told her she had too much too to drink and here they are threatening to never speak to her again for making her mom feel so bad. What the frick? A daughter can’t call out her mom for drinking too much?
Her scumbag dad who’s never been a real father to her her whole life keeps telling her she’s an awful person and to apologize for telling her she had too much to drink. frick your bum arse dude, you had to declare bankruptcy cause you couldn’t hold a job with your lazy arse now you want to be a father and get involved?
Her mom keeps our son for three days a week to help us avoid paying out the arse for daycare, but we’re close to saying you’re fricking done until you get your shite together and grow up. I don’t want my son around an alcoholic grandma.
My parents are amazing, I can tell them anything constructive I want and they’d apologize and promise to fix it. I don’t know how to handle this. Tempted to say frick it let’s move back to Alabama and be next to my parents.
It’s so disappointing cause I always hoped I’d get a father in law who hunts and is a cool dude but he freaking sucks. My wife literally can’t tell her mom she had too much to drink or the world blows up. My mind is blown at how big this is to them and relationship changing things are being said over it.
TLDR, CSB....in laws suck arse. Anybody deal with bum asses like this freaking out about petty shite?

My wife's aunt is getting a divorce. Shes only 13 years or so older than my wife.

I used to until it was brought to my attention that I was using them to save $150/week and told I was a cheap frick to which my only reply was to head straight for my computer.

My in-laws rock. They raised some great children. Both of my wife’s siblings are great people. I like them better then my own sister
