Should wealthy people just open up their wallets and give money away to the tune of millions?

Because if you improve property, property value goes up (duh).

If property value goes up, poor blacks can't afford to live there anymore.

End result, gentrification.

Is the only way around this by just giving poor blacks millions, and hoping they un-frick their own neighborhoods?

It doesn't happen without gentrification. There is no way to improve the area without rents increasing.

African Americans that end the cycle of poverty leave places like north Baton Rouge.

You give them money and hope they won't waste it is the only answer they will accept.

This is exactly how it worked in Africa.

You don't.

And the same people (Gravy and his ho train) clamoring for investment in NBR will be the first to complain about gentrification.

There's no winning with them.

You can't unless you can alter an entire culture that, as a whole, doesn't value education.

By razing it to the ground, sending the leeches and roaches far far away, and starting over

First, white people need to recognize that they stole all the resources during slavery and Jim Crow.

So the only way to fix it is for white people to leave their jobs, leave their homes, and to give a large portion of their wealth (not all of it) to black families.

Well, the city could implement rent control.

Education... without gentrification it has to come from within NBR, and the only way that happens is if NBR residents actually embrace education and honest work and improve it themselves.

And white people in positions of power need to relinquish their roles. Too many white people teaching in universities, owning successful businesses, becoming doctors.

If black people improve their neighborhood and raise property values it's "revitalization"

If white people improve a black neighborhood and raise property values it's "gentrification".

Their plans to revitalize and improve neighborhoods while keeping property values stagnant is something that doesn't exist in the real world.
