If they were legit, I'm sure several would've predicted winning lottery numbers and horses in the races. I see this psychic place while turning from Corporate onto College and wonder how the hell that place is still open or why anyone would pay to just to hear what they want to hear

Because people are desperate and/or naive. Either one of those conditions are missing, and the person is not taken in. I think people, by and large, are a lot more skeptical today than they were 20 years ago or even 10 years ago, probably due to all the bullshite they see on social media.

Dude, you can find people to fall for just about anything.

This item made someone a lot of money..

But in terms of psychics, people believe what they want and think that psychics can tell them what they want to believe.

I read that as physics, and was very confused for a second.

Being a psychic is a lot like being a sports analyst.... Be as general as you possibly can and hope something sticks. Then run with it

Exactly, they both get as much information as possible before doing their job and use that information to increase their chances of getting something correct.

I had just read a discussion on the MSB about the PHYSICS of a helmet so I read the title as "How do people fall for physics?"

I thought this was a pun about gravity.

As for psychics, they just manipulate emotions, whether fear, sadness, etc. or something like naive optimism.

Worse than psychics are "mediums" where they speak to dead loved ones. On those stupid shows (e.g., Long Island Medium), I find it despicable to lie and manipulate people who are grieving.

Besides, if they do talk to the dead, there has to be one that has something bad to say. Like "I know you were cheating" or "I know you had me killed."

i asked one of them for daily double at Belmont one time, she paused, making sure our 5 free minutes were up and then hung up.
