And if you just started the job and only have a few days? That's ridiculous
Wouldn't hire somebody pregnant. As a small business owner, that's fricking me right of the bat without the satisfaction.

absolutely true...and then at raise time, they get the same merit raise as folks who covered for them while they were off.
Especially true. We had one girl take off 16 weeks back when I worked at state. You would think she got cut open and has complications. Nope. Right out the pussy.

Me and my wife both get 12 weeks each

Prove it. That's going to be tough if I hire somebody equally or more qualified

So she should suffer for taking time off that her employer allows for?

No thanks. I went to the office to finally get some rest.

Damn, that must've been nice. Mine got 10 weeks...no money. It was sort of a shitty situation as they told her when she got pregnant they'd pay her for 6 weeks then when it happened they say they never said that.

After pushing a human being out of your body you should brobsbly get at least 8-12 weeks. That isn't even taking into account all of the psychological issues of leaving your infant child. It's human nature to want to stay with them while they're in that stage.
Paternity leave should also be a thing, but not a law

That's fricked up. Got to always get that shite in writing though.

LOL well, the way the real world works and not the internet court of opinion...goodluck.
And no, I think extended maternity leave puts a strain on your coworkers. It's an inconvenience. If you want me to continue to pull the weight of the office, pay me for it. When I was younger, pretty much one of the reasons I left a job. 15 females between 23-40. No shite. In two years, 14 pregnancies.

You ever had the one who takes the paid vacation, leave and shows up the day she returns and turns in her resignation? Has happened twice in my career. That's awesome.

It's really not that hard to attach your actual name to your screen name, and you best believe a case could be made based off your opinions here.

Well I think you're ignorant for having that opinion.

It's a fricking kid, are you serious?

certainly
but any good employer will treat their employees well, and in the case of pregnant women, maternity leave is part of that
my wife's employer hired her at 6 months pregnant FWIW
the difference between good employers and shitty ones

Because I don't support unchecked, mandated paid maternity leave?
