I don't care how much of an OT Baller you are, a computer screen is too small to comfortably watch porn with your SO.

I have a 65" and it's about 12' away from the sofa, it's perfect for us. I had a 50" and it didn't cut it.

OK my philosophy is I'd much rather have it (as in more) and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Normally the girls complain when I'm hitting their cervix so I imagine that's when it is too big.

I have a 65" 4K Flat Screen.

Totally dependent on room size.

My house was built in the 80’s. Days of “great rooms” and vaulted ceilings. I literally can’t get a TV too big. But I stopped at 60”.

If this TV were in our old apartment though it would be ridiculous and probably give me a headache.

We have a 65" 4k Ultra HDR, I would have preferred the 70" but the price difference was much more than the increase in viewing enjoyment. I'm not unhappy but I imagine I will upgrade to a 70" at some point.

multiply your viewing distance (in inches) by .84 or divide by 1.2 and that will give you the ideal screen size. This gives you the ideal 40degree viewing angle. At the very least divide the distance by 2.5 to get the minimum size for that distance.

For example: If my couch is 8 feet (96 inches) from where the TV goes.

Ideal: 96*.84= 80.64"
SMPTE 30 (30degree angle): 96/1.5= 64"
Minimum: 96/2.5= 38.4"

As you can see there's a huge difference in sizes here but the "ideal" at least gives you a ceiling so that you don't get something unnecessarily big (unless you just want a yuge TV).

So you splurged on your TV and presumably other household items with the money you saved by getting a single wide instead of the double. Hmmmmm subtle brag post gone wrong.

Yes, fantastic TV. My picture is dialed in perfectly, too. Bought it last year on Black Friday for $300 less than it's current price today. Never had to stand in line either. Bought it online at Best Buy and picked it up at the back door of their store.

I have a 60 in living room and wish it was a 70. Have a 50 outside and wish it was a 60. So bigger is definitely better

I watch a 120 wide (~138" diagonal) 16:9 screen at 11ft. There is basically no such thing as a TV that is too large, even with PJ screen it is hard to go to large in the average sized room.

if you will be sitting 8-10ft from it then 40-42" is the "right size" for not being too small

if you will be sitting 12-15ft from it then 50-55" is the "right size" for not being too small

these are the recommended averages to see everything very well, that said, you cant go wrong going big unless you get stupid with it. by that i mean you dont want a 72" screen if you are going to be sitting 8-10ft away or its too big to take in the whole image, but you can get a 50" and be very happy its that big, even though its bigger then the recommended size for that distance.

what happens with too big of a screen is, you cant focus on the whole screen all at once, you end up looking at partial sections of the screen because its just too much there to look at. it also doesnt give you the best view since you are "too close to it" to get the sharpest clearest images.

Maybe it is time to move from girls to women, so you don't bottom out with 5", but maybe that was your plan all along.

It somewhat depends on your room and your seating distance.

I put a 75" in my living room. Seating distance is about 15' from the screen. I could've squeezed an 80" in the location, but I save $500+ by sacrificing the extra 5 inches.

I'll just leave that there for anybody who wants to pick the low hanging fruit.

Biggest issue is the lamps and cleaning the mirror inside.

My living room one died. Got a Samsung 65" Class MU9000 Series 3840 x 2160 4K UHD Smart TV last month on sale at Sam's. Love watching sports on it. You can see the grains of sand in the infield during baseball. Hockey is better than it was in the one I had before. Haven't gotten a chance to watch hoops on it yet.

Have to change the settings for some movies and TV series. It looks like a movie set if you watch them on the same setting you use to watch sports.
