think killing themselves is ok? It's not ok. For fricks sake. Why would someone cause everyone around them this much heartache?

Because they listened to the devil and he won the battle mentally over them.

That was the case with my uncle. From what my dad tells me about him...he was just never the same when he returned. And it's not like back then PTSD was really recognized or treated. My dad could see him getting worse and worse and when I was born he made my uncle godfather hoping that would help I guess. It didn't and he shot himself a few months after my christening.

My dad has struggled with depression himself at times and honestly...I think there were likely times he was really close to ending things...but didn't because he remembered all the pain from losing his brother that way.

Spare us all the "what about how they feel?" Your feelings are just that. Feelings. Not reality. Not facts. Just emotional underpinnings swept away with human sentiment. Have courage. Have character. Chose to live and to be a blessing to others.

Shut up. That's our joke

And I've gotten to the point in my BP that ive sympathized with those who did it and could see why they did. Apparently I wasn't that bad because I thought about my son not having a mom first thing. But I have had what my Dr called passive suicidal thoughts. Never acted on it

This is 70% of why I'm upset. I was happy while talking to him about this shite while he was going through hell.

I'm sorry for your loss

Don't ever blame yourself though or think you didn't talk to him enough or anything similar

it's still pretty fresh for you, so I'm not going to blame you for anything that you think or feel. it's all natural, and I imagine your mind will change with some time. just try your best to remember who he was, not what he did.
Hardest thing right here. I feel like I have to form a definitive opinion of this situation because if I don't, it'll drive me crazy.

If I can't pinpoint why this happened then I'll forever being swimming laps in my own head trying to figure out why this was ok.
