Find a job then find somewhere to live that’s 5-10 minutes away. Your life benefits when you don’t waste it in traffic.

What would be my best options in the Houston metro area? Also, I'm a single 23 year old and would like somewhere with decent nightlife. So far I'm extremely interested in The Woodlands/Spring, Katy, Sugar Land and Pearland

None of these places have any nightlife. Midtown Houston is the place to be

You need to live in the heights or Montrose. A few of my single friends live there.

If you are commuting to outside the loop then you are always going the opposite direction of traffic. It will make for a much easier commute.

Also, those are the only places where a young single person wouldn't feel totally out of place.

I use to work out in deer park you can live on the west loop and get their in 30 minutes given you leave prior to peak rush hours. Most plant baws aren’t getting to work at 8 so I assume you won’t be.

pearland is for families and stuff. I lived in upper Kirby when I Worked out there. It was about 30 minutes door to door at 630am and then 45 or so on the way back. It might be worse now that they are working on 45 between 610 and 59

You can find a 1 bed room for ~1000 and not be slumming it

If you don’t mind being close to the ghetto but closer to work check out east downtown and a less ghetto offering in midtown. Both offer good nightlife options with tons of people your ages.

Montrose and the heights are going to price you out

Downtown has turned around significantly in the last 3/4 years. We moved from the heights (house value jumped 175% too good not to move) and into a high rise downtown. First two years were annoying with the amount of homeless and lack of development. Since the super bowl it’s been lit.

29/30 years old.

Downtown>heights>Washington corridor>east downtown

Everything else is pointless to try and get to Pasadena in a reasonable time.

So you don’t want to live in Houston??

Rent a place in Midtown for 9-12 months and decide after that once you get to know the area

If you're trying to rent, and you're 23 and single, go with midtown, Washington, downtown/Eado areas. Residents are younger, nightlife is good, close to interstate access to get to the east side.

Would you consider buying a boat and living aboard near Kehma?

If you are a young professional type this would be your best bet if you are looking to go out and meet women. The pool parties during the spring and summer will be a very easy way to meet people just like you from all over the country and create new social circles. If you want to rent a small house then look at the heights.
