All I can add is thank little baby Jesus for planned developments with excellent drainage and buried power lines

The main drainage canal that dumps into Buffalo Bayou runs behind my house and has at least 8ft of water in it right now

So the problems in Harris County don't end when the rain ends

Y'all can lift clean and place tomorrow.

Don't worry about playing it down. I'm not judging you.
Y'all should have had sand bags though.
Fire dept is supposed to help with that.

Jeez...even your water wants to leave the burbs as fast as possible and flood in to the loop.

I don't see how They could ever have enough sandbags to do any good in an area this big.

Looks like I 10 and 610 is impassable right now...video showing trucks pulled off the road.

Everything is fine in cypress. Light rain now but still lots of lightning and thunder.

My sister lives out there and says the same. They still have power too

Each family goes and grabs around 10-20, or whatever they need to keep it from coming up onto the patio/front step, etc. and into the house.
We're talking stacked two high and a small pile in front of the door.

In a pinch: pillow cases, raid the trap behind your house.

Return the sand tomorrow and rake the trap well.

Adapt and overcome.
