Houston OT'ers - Need Help for Jewlery

I'm pretty new to Houston, work in the SW portion inside the loop. I need help finding a good, legit jewelry store to possibly look for some earrings for my wife as a good Mother's Day gift.
Any recommendations?
I think I remember hearing a while back that it was better to shop at a place titled "---- Jewelers" rather than "---- Jewelry Store". Is that true?

I second Brian Gavin and will add Klein's Jewelers on Westheimer @ Greenridge...next door to the Palm. Brian has some amazing diamonds and will custom make anything you'd like. Mark at Klein's will have more pieces already made.
