What is a rough estimate on a new construction of a 1800sq ft home with patio and built in swimming pool in backyard. Looking to build a lot for 120,000 and build on it. Thanks for the replies.

Geez. So many unknowns in this equation. That being said, the pool will run you at least $40k so I hope that $120 is for the lot and not your actual budget.

Super loaded question because the pool cost should be separate and it depends on a variety of factors like what sort of finishes do you expect, what sort of house style, etc.

You buying a $120,000 lot? Just that's what it's going to cost? No size, city/town, etc?

So many unknowns.

Oh and if you want a pool just buy a house in my opinion.

Thank you Johnny for a frame of reference but it also could have NOTHING that the OP is interested in.

Ceiling height? 8' 9' 10'...higher?

ranch or multi-level?

Custom doors? solid core, raised panel, hollow core flush?

Moldings? costs vary widely...no crown? 3" 4" 5" 2 piece, 3 piece...more?

Granite everywhere? No where?

I could go on and on. Stout could triple this list in 5 minutes...

If you are spending that much for a lot, isn't it a disservice to put that small of a house on it?

ETA: not trying to be a dick. Just seems odd to me

Just me and my wife. Why do I need such a expensive home when we take trips year round?? 1800 for just us with a nice Patio and pool is what we want. Why spend on space when I do not need it. Its why I am not in any debt.

I understand you might now want a bigger house now, but what about being able to add on/expand to the house if you end up having kids?

120k for lot is good chunk of change. Must be in a nice neighborhood or big piece of land.

shite I just bought .65 of an acre of 35,000. Just remember that right now is a sellers market so buyers aren't getting a lot of bang for the buck.
