At what point do you complain to a point where the driver likely gets fired? What if the know where you live, that you are obviously on vacation (took you to and airport with luggage), and they looked slightly shady (not in a murder you sense, but in a steal you TV sense)?

Our driver yesterday showed up and parked around the corner. Took off as we are walking down the street to them. Called them and they stopped. It was still dark and I see someone sleeping in the passenger seat. Turns out its our driver on the app. Someone else is driving. Can't fit luggage because there is a spare tire in the back. They take out the spare to fit it. As we take off, I realize they leave it in the middle of the street (had someone pick it up). We are already running late due to finding car and luggage. Stops for gas. Woman driving has no idea how to get to the airport, so the actual driver has to wake up and show her.

Worst cab ride ever. Would they know who complained, especially with such specific complaints? This person appeared ghetto to the point I'd not want them knowing where I lived while not there.

Just don't be specific and cite cleanliness and other issues. Shitty uber drivers don't remain drivers for very long. They will have bad ratings from everyone.

There is no way another person other than the actual driver should be taking the wheel. Should have walked away from that one right away.

It was close to walking away. But we would have missed a flight. Haha.

That is why it's best to stick to the professionals and call a cab.

My trip is over at this point.

This wouldn't have happened in a regular cab. Just saying. You get what you pay for

People have bad days. Unless you asked, just assume the real driver had an illness or possibly a family issue.

Sounds like no matter what, he gutted it out and made sure you would be services.

It was likely my last Uber trip. At least in that area. I'd have just turned it down in any other situation, but we'd have missed our flight if we had to call another cab, or drive and go to the park and fly. At least after waiting for the Uber.

I'm done with Uber at this point. $6 to go 0.8 mile on Tuesday at 10AM - non surge pricing.

What was this UberX? I always call black or at least uberXL to make sure we have enough room.

Why didn't you just walk? That would have taken less than 10 minutes

Yeah sure, better call them about 2 hours in advance and they show up if someone feels like it with which you have no way of knowing unless you call every 15 minutes.

It's $6 to get you to your meeting on time.

Seems like a great deal to me.

so you got a ride for a mile, in short time, made your "meeting" and gripe about $6 door to door?

fricking kids! Guys like you are why this world sucks.

It gives you the price on your app

What if it was raining? The point is the fee, not the purpose. It's $6 for less than a mile during not a busy time

I know someone who drove for Uber and they were told if their eating goes below 4.5 stars they are fired. Give them a 1 star rating. Unless they get better, others will do the same and they won't be driving for long. Also, it is anonymous. They cannot see what you rate them.

Then I would be willing to pay double.

There has to be a floor, kid. There is time and travel involved, and service.

Again, it gives you the price. We could go into all the details of your situation of calling for a ride less than a mile...sounds like it was in the city, or else you would have driven yourself.

I think we all understand that uber wasn't exactly created for half mile rides. Yes, they do them, but it's not the core business (yet)

Please tell me what is cheaper, and then tell me why you didn't use it?

Plus , once again, it shows you the price!
