Home Repair Board: gas stove burner problem

The last time I used the stove was Wednesday or Thursday and all 4 burners were working. Friday night while I was out, the wife cleaned the stove. Saturday I get up to cook breakfast and all the sudden one of the burners no longer lights. It clicks like it is supposed to and you can smell gas, but no flame comes out!!!
I remember a couple of times when I was younger/dumber just turning the gas on and lighting it with a match, but in hindsight that was probably extremely stupid!!!
Any suggestions on what the problem could be? A fix?

The click is the striker trying to light. Your wife probably fricked it up. Either it's not making a spark or its been knocked out of alignment and it's too far away from the gas. You can use a match to light it.

Make sure she put everything back where it belongs and nothing is being blocked. If that don't work, light it with a match and let the heat dry it off.

Light a match. Place it within a 1/2 of the burner. Turn on the gas to medium. It will light. Blow out the match before you throw it in the trash can so you won't burn the house down. You are welcome.

She didn't put the burners back correctly. Investigate.

If you can see a spark coming from the ignitors, she knocked the burners from where they are supposed to be

I'd rather this problem than with my stupid electric stove.. God I hate that POS. Then again if you have Mobile Gas you can only have a stove that is the only thing which uses gas and in the summer you spend $10 a month only to use the same amount in the dead of winter costs $90.

I'd put money on one of the little top caps not sitting correctly. Happens every time our cleaning lady cleans our house.
