I work for a security company in Lafayette called EPS. Locally owned/operated/monitored company that does cameras and alarm systems all with free installs. Our alarm systems come with lifetime warranties, and cameras with 5 year warranties.

Your monthly price is going to mainly depend on whether or not you have a land line at home. Average price for an alarm system on a land line is $35 bucs with all your windows and doors protected, motion detector, Keychain remote, and touchscreen keypad. Same system without a phone line averages around $45/month, but also carries the benefit of accessibility from your smart phone along with text alerts.

Honestly, most companies bring the same offers to the table in terms of equipment, and our competition is usually within a few dollars on the monthly monitoring rate. The biggest differentiator is the service you receive after the sale. Our lifetime warranty comes along with same day service, and you can rest assured that you will get a friendly voice on the line and won't be kept on hold whenever a problem occurs.

I encourage people to shop around, as our rates are about as competitive as it gets, and we are the only provider of commercial quality camera systems at $0 down.

Check out the website at eps-online.Com and call the office number and ask for Nick if you'd like to get a more accurate quote. We serve all of Louisiana.

Why does the GSM wireless card monitoring cost more than the landline? It's basically a dedicated burner cell phone for the wired alarm system.

The hardware and infrastructure costs less than everything that comprises a landline system, both in terms of labor and materials, amd is the size of a deck of cards, why the higher cost?

It seems like all the alarm companies charge more for the perception of wireless as more sophisticated or expensive when they're really just fleecing people.

I found it's much cheaper and more transparent to buy the system and monitoring separately when we built our house. I pay $300/year for wireless monitoring, and it calls the same police department as my neighbors who pay $65+ to ADT for 5 years.

Custom security.

Anytime I have to call them wether it be middle of the night or on a holiday a real live person answers. It's not an automated answering service which forces you to navigate a ridiculous menu of selecting a certain numbered option then puttting you on hold until Alia-Boo-boo decides to take your call. An actual person answers every time and gives good customer service. This is makes a huge difference to me as opposed to companies like ADT who I have sat waiting on hold for the smallest of matters.

Oh and supposedly also has a lifetime warranty on the equipment.

Have to pay for the cell service. Plus a cellualar communicator cost more than a POTS module and phone cord. When you factor in the cost of the landline phone service they pretty much even out. Instead of paying the alarm dealer that monthly fee you pay the phone company. Same can be said for the broadband communicators.
