What do you guys use for a home alarm system other than guns, cannons, dogs, etc. Looked at ADT and they were a little expensive. Who do you use and how much was installation and what's your monthly price? Thanks

In BR I use Guardian Protection. Free install, very nice system, 44.99/month one year contract. In Houston I have Monitronics. Pretty much the same deal except they force a 3 year contract. Very nice systems though and all controlled by an app on your phone.

I have the basically the same with a company named Acme Alarm out of Denham Springs. I don't remember what I paid, if anything, to have it installed b/c I got it installed over 4 years but I didn't have to sign any contracts. I pay $32.50/month. It's operated over a cellular connection and I have an app on my phone to control everything. If I ever want to add video surveillance, I'm able to do that as well via the app.

Just put an AT&T alarm on my mom's house. So far so good.

Alarm Center. Installation free with a contract( 3 years I believe). It was around $35.00 a month.

I currently have Custom but just for monitoring. How much was it to add-on cameras?

The monthly cost was free, but the cost of the cameras and DVR was about 1,200 dollars if I remember correctly.

Combo of wink and go control sensors for exterior with simplesafe for "real" protection. I have rooms that aren't used that much but have a common core. The core is simplisafe, but wink will set off an audible alarm be before that but isn't monitored.
