Will be fun to see the dealer mark up.

it just might if by chance it doesn't break down before it reaches the traps.
It went 10.8 on radials and 11.2 on street tires on a hot summer day.

I'm not expecting one. Not something Chrysler normally does, and I'm sure they'll be making decent quantities of the Hellcat...I'm sure a few dealers will try for sure though.

That's not bad. 60k for 700 hp.
What's not to like?

I thik it's great general middle class can afford something even remotely close to so of the aformentioned supercars
The general middle class does not own $60k vehicles.

LOL at the losers who bought the base model.

$60k is about the price of many trucks and Tahoes/Suburbans, which are quintessential middle class rides.

Eh...close, but not really.
$60k is the going rate for a moderately equipped 3/4 ton truck...or a top of the line 1/2 ton (King Ranch, Denali, Laramie Longhorn). Same for SUV's.
But that is all besides the point. 707hp/650tq for $60k is stupidly affordable.

A diesel king ranch is more of a status symbol than a challenger

Ill take me a GT350, add a Hellion twin turbo system with F.A.S.T fuel management system and wack that arse for well under that. shite, bring on a Z06 or Zr1 for that matter.

Why you ranking out my ride, man?
The new Z06 will have 650hp/650tq, but here's the kicker; 5 yr/100K powertrain warranty. That's gonna be a stout engine.

Probably won't be too many buyers. I rather just stick with the Corvette Stingray.

So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.
The Viper, though, continues to simply flounder. With a starting price of $102,485 for a base model and $124,985 for the GTS, the Viper doesn't cover as vast a pricing range as the 911, but with only 354 units sold as of last month so far this year, it's far, far behind either the Porsche or the Corvette.

Agree.
You can get to $140K pretty easily on a 911.
The Z06 will probably be up around $80K base, optioned out, maybe $90K

Won't be many buyers? Based on what? And very few will be cross shopping a Hellcat and a Stingray. They have a similar price, two doors and a V8 in common. That's about it...very different vehicles.
The Challenger is already one of Dodge's better selling vehicles and has a high customer retention rate. Give it 707hp/650tq, a warranty, and a $60k price tag and they will sell every single Hellcat they make.
The Viper's sluggish sales are a bit surprising. Personally, I think people are just put off by name change and the premium price they come at now...though they've always been expensive compared to the Vette...and thankfully they are back under the Dodge badge. It's always been a bit more exclusive and raw lol. The anodized carbon edition Viper T/A is really badass, would love to have one of those.
