Have a downvote, and another, and another ... until you figure out that Constitutional Rights, none of them, should require a license to exercise.

Or are you in favor of needing a license to speak freely?

Well the CT State police have a memo on how to deal with open carry of a handgun.

Connecticut carry dot com says you're wrong.

The US supreme court also disagrees with you. You have to be suspected of a crime to be legally required to identify.

Cops can't just go around demanding ID.
I got hit with radar in Houston going 86 on the beltway last week. Before he got to the window I had rolled down my windows, put my keys on the dash and had my hands on the steering wheel. When he walked up I immediately told him I had a concealed handgun license and the weapon is in the center console. He was so happy that he actually ended up letting me go after he checked out everything.

I support his right to not have to show his ID if that is the law. But I also don't understand why he didn't just show it, order his sandwich, and everyone go on about their day.

i get what you're saying and you're stating what you would do. And that's fine.

But that is now the law.

there is an "if" in there and i'm sure a decent attorney along with that video evidence would have a good case against the state.

I'd rather not go down that road, I'd just show my ID and be on my way. They shouldn't write laws then instruct officers to act in a different manner. It's a setup for the citizen and the officer.

Video guy should have confirmed that officer is requesting to see permit and then reach for his wallet very fest.

So keep playing hardball with these guys and the laws will most definitely change.

I just don't understand why some would want to go down in a blaze and completely forfeit their rights rather than be cordial and keep them.

"Now I'm going to Dunkin Donuts. Do to talk to that manager too?" Lol. You can tell that sergeant fat Albert often crosses the line with his bullying behavior.

Subway is not a "public place." He doesn't have a "right" to be in there. All they had to do was ask him to leave.

And he left when subway said they were not serving him. The police do not decide who can be in subway

He wasn't doing anything illegal, but it's a 2 way street. If people keep doing this, the cops are going to get sick of dealing with these a-holes and push to makes laws for more restrictions. Gun owners like this need to learn how to improve their perception to the public. Pretty soon, when people see someone open carry, they'll automatically assume that person is a trouble maker.

Once again, I said I support his right to do it, but I'm not defending it like you are. He was an a-hole looking to make a scene and he did exactly that. This isn't doing bun owners any favors.
