I thought we were talking about former BRPD Chief and LSP Commander Dwayne White.

A white guy who got the job because he promised not to apply.

Couple of articles on McGarner

People

quote:

“You hear it all the time,” he says, just after a black teen he questions outside a convenience store in the midst of a school day storms off with a cutting remark accusing the police lieutenant of harassing his own kind.

quote:

Lt. McGarner lets it go with no apologies.

quote:

At the end of the day we all bleed the same,” McGarner tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue, on newsstands Friday. “We’re all children of God.”
“I pray to God we’re going to get better,” he says.

WBRZ
quote:

People showed McGarner with a patch that had the letters "HMFIC" - an acronym commonly associated with the phrase "Head mother f---- in charge." WLS questioned the patch on the uniform of a police officer following national conversations about the militarization of officers in the wake of officer-involved shootings.

quote:

A Baton Rouge Police spokesperson said the letters, while easily associated with the expletive, suggested the letters meant "Head Military Figure in Charge" and paid homage to McGarner's time spent in the US Army.

quote:

After questions about the patch, police said they advised McGarner "to remove that patch from his departmental issued vest so there is no confusion in the future."

That bitch is only going to hire a black chief. We all know how that bitch operates. She's a fraud.

Nothing wrong with hiring a black chief as long as they are hired based on qualities other than their skin color.

The two I nentioned have been, and are still out, in the trenches and know first hand what is really going on out there in the streets. I would gladly go to battle with either one. Both are supervisors and have led officers in high stress situations. They remain calm, cool, and collected under fire.

And they both were born, raised, and live in Baton Rouge. They bleed BRPD blue and are in tune with the community.

With that said, she won't pick either one now. My choice has never been the pick in my entire career.

At least 7/11 candidates are black. I'm honestly surprised it's not more.

She is awesome. Definitely in the top three. Very smart and well liked. Her husband is a cop and is extremely well liked too.

I've known Sharon Williams Douglas for years and she is one of the smartest, hardest working women I've ever known. This will get shite all over but she would make a great chief. I believe her husband works the street as an officer also.
