I drove past their facility outside Houston a couple days ago. I wanted to stop in so bad and take a look around but I figured they'd tell me to GTFO.

Hennessey does wicked stuff in terms of horsepower - I'm a big fan. As always is the case, anything posted in the OT is subject to rantard remarks that stray away from the very simple fact that the fricking car is a beast; aftermarket or otherwise.

Yes this Camaro is aftermarket but it is designed totally different than the Hellcat. The Hellcat will be like the Mustang in that it is only good at straight line speed. The Z28 is a street legal race car.

Didn't click the link, but I wonder what all they did to the Camaro motor. IIRC, that motor is pretty high compression and set up specifically for natural aspiration. They also kind of ruin the purpose of the car with the supercharger, bet that thing would melt down if run all day on a road track. I'm sure it's quick in a straight line though.
Oh, and Hennessey is well known to be an egotistical jackass who screws over customers...that always seems to be general consensus on message boards.

I am sure the hellcat will be much cheaper. The Z28 pushing around 500hp is over 70 grand already due to the chassis tuning, etc.. that has been done to it. It is the most track (not drag strip but real racing) ready car sold. It is more expensive than the 685hp ZL1 Camaro.

All the concepts and "leaked" photos I've seen have the front end looking like a Camry. Of course, who knows if those photos are legit. IMO, Ford designers destroyed the Mustang design so I hope the people at GM don't do the same.
