I will be starting a new job in port allen in 2 weeks. I have been taking my son to school but they don't open until 7. My New job starts at 7 but my new manager said I can take him to school and I can come in at 7:30. I told him thank you but being realistic I think it would be impossible to get to port Allen in 30 minutes with morning rush hour from family christian academy next to the mall of louisiana. I think my wife is going to have to take him even though she starts at 8 but works a lot farther then me.

If you drop him off right at 7 you should be in Port Allen by 7:30 unless there is a wreck on the interstate.

So... 50% of the time, you'll be fine every time.

Use Waze every morning. You'll get there the quickest way no matter what happens.

Why the hell does any employer make you get there at 7? That's ridiculously early if it's an office job.

It'll be a lot easier to go west in the morning than it is to go east. It's after work that you'll want to kill yourself. The bridge is alllllways backed up eastbound.

So whats the question? Do you want us to take your son to school for you or something?

Its still pretty bad in the AM. I travel west from Prairieville to BR every day and traffic is pretty shitty.

You shouldn't have a problem in the morning (unless there is a wreck). Afternoon? Good luck

Can I recommend a personal helicopter? If they are making you arrive at work at 7am you better be ballin'!

I work an office job, our hours are 6-4:30 4 days a week. We have to have someone here to work with our field crew to answer questions and what not.

Thanks for everybody' responses. I was just wondering if anybody else makes that commute or that direction in the morning to get a better idea of what I'm looking.

30 minutes is more than enough time to make it.

Drop your snowflake off at 6:45 if you're that worried.
