Who does not direct deposit in the year 2020
I try my best to make it to where we are even for the year and ended up owing $300 in 2018 and $100 for 2019. I paid that and apparently that means I get to wait more than a month for a paper check.
fricking neat.

I’ve always done direct deposit. This year, I owed Federal taxes but still had it drafted from my account. I am eligible for the stimulus (albeit a small one). I read they since I owed Federal taxes, my stimulus is still in the que even though the IRS will direct deposit my funds.

People who overpaid on their taxes get it first. Not too bad.
Can you not pay your taxes on a bank draft?

You can. Did it this year.

The thing is, I did. Which I thought would be sufficient to get the direct deposit.
Apparently there were a lot more people in the same situation that did not get direct deposit for some reason. of course, we can't call the IRS or get a response from anyone because they are closed.
If I think about it too much it really pisses me off. They work for us but you wouldn't know it.

So I guess last week's hysteria over Trump's name on the memo causing a week delay was all bullshite

Yeah, I usually just put ours on a credit card and pay it back. We don't typically owe that much, $300-500 or so to feds and usually get $800-1k from state.
It's about as close to $0 as I've been able to get it.

Off the top, I already knew it was gonna be a grand clusterfuk since it’s the IRS.
1. We haven’t filed our 2019 taxes yet.
2. We didn’t add any DD info to our 2018 taxes, b/c we owed.
3. We moved a few months ago.
Website says “Payment status not available”
“According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.”
Lol the IRS

If you owed taxes in the past, you won’t have a direct deposit setup with the IRS

Yep, the poster above had good info. Here's how to change your address with the IRS (not online)

How do you know if they have your DD info?
I haven’t filed ‘19 yet, but I went back and looked at my 18 return and there is bank routing and account info on some page like 15 or 20 pages in. I owed last year though, but I did pay through that auto debit with the bank info.
I have still not recieved my money, and the website says Payment Status Not Available

I owed in 2018 and they say they don't know if i'm eligible.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that the article gives info for those who provided their Direct Deposit info on April 15th.
That's exactly what I did. Logged into the tracker page and added my bank account. It now says that is where the money will go, but there's no indication as to when. "We will update this page with your payment date" is all it says.
Watch the people getting paper checks get them before those of us who did this

If you owed, they likely do not have your bank information on file.
I owed the past several years, and they didn't have mine even though I direct drafted. It also says in the FAQ that they only have it if you got an actual refund.

I read the same thing about those who paid taxes 2019 are still waiting to receive their stimulus. The IRS has my bank account info since I've had a refund direct deposited for the last ten years. This year was the first year I had to pay instead of getting a refund. When I went to IRS site, it acted like it didn't have my direct deposit info, so I entered it again. Now it says I'm eligible for payment, has my direct deposit info, will get direct deposit (date unknown). It's been that way for well over a week. What the frick?

I did too and still haven't gotten it

If you owed, that would be why.

The IRS will hunt you down and track you in the most sneaky of ways if you owe them anything. Yet let something like this go down, and they act like they are a bunch of retards running the show, and you'll just have to wait for months because they can't keep up.
