Tried to grow my hair out long enough to have one and just couldn't stand it. My hair is thick and takes forever to dry out, that was the worst part for me. Grew it out for about 6 months and had to cut it off.

My theory on men with long hair is that they grow it out so their boyfriend has something to hold on to. its super ghey.

I wore a top knot sometimes when my hair was long. In the past in Japan the top knot hair style signified the societal status of the samurai. If you were to change professions, to say a farmer or preist, you would cut your hair to show your lower status.

When I graduated and got a job working for the man, I cut my hair. I was no longer a samurai, but a lowly peasant worker.

Pretty damn spot on. I rock one. Left the corporate world a few years ago and started bartending, grew my hair out. Just today was up in Boston for an interview w/ a restaurant group for a management/director of operations position I really want. Told the man, I'd cut it off if need be.

I know a guy with one and he pulls fine women with it. I won't knock it. It looks good on him.

I wear headbands or bandanas when mine gets that long.

Had to cut it off when I moved into the bureaucracy, getting high enough now to where zero fricks are given. If I'm the smartest in the room: my hair doesn't matter and I need to change rooms anyways.

This. And the marines wouldn't like me showing up rocking anything but a regulation haircut.

Have one right now. It boosts office morale.

ETA: And I'm gainfully employed and dating a woman
