Everyone I knew who tried cocaine, Quaaludes, psychadelics and other "serious" drugs in the 1970's started out smoking pot and drinking alcohol. Some got addicted to "serious" drugs, but most, including me, were recreational users who did not. I get a laugh out of people who try and claim that the progression from introductory drugs, like pot and alcohol, to more serious and dangerous drugs is uncommon.

No but bro-in-law and wife did and dealt Then progressed to other stuff. She could do it (coke)recreationaly on weekends with no problem but he could not stop and it ruined his life and marriage. Cenacore saved him.

I was born in 61'.So when I was a kid I wanted to be a Hippie.
Smoked it at 14.The weed in the 70's wasn't like this stuff now.
I smoked every day in College.
I might smoke it a couple of times a year now.I have a buddy that always has it.If he gets some medicinal stuff I'm in.

No, haven't smoked in months, graduate in may and trying to get a big boy job
No, but I did have a few months where I really enjoyed and indulged in codiene, norco, and Vyvanse/Adderal 24/7 but it was after a motorcycle accident and I didn't smoke the grass during that time
Edit: I smoked mostly in HS, most of my friends I smoked with are huge addicts now. From heroin to coke. 2 have od'd and passed away and they all (with the exception of me and one good friend) have been in or are currently in jail

I have done damn near every drug out there minus crack and heroin. I'm not proud of it, but I don't think it was because I smoked weed. I was just a dumb kid (still am) but I don't do it anymore.
I will smoke the day I get out of the military though. But I do think weed makes you lazy to an extent. Baton Rouge wasn't a good place for me.
