this is the first thought that popped into my mind...didn't think it would be appropriate to ask, though.

It's cool man, you should have asked. You know I'm an open book

I've seen my grandma once, in a dream. It was a morning that was day 3 of one of the worst migraines I've ever had. In my dream, she rubbed my hair like she would always do and if I was ok, and then she told me she worried about me. I responded that I was alright, and that she shouldn't worry.

I got up that morning and went to the hospital for my headache. My blood pressure was 193/161 IIRC. It was high enough to where I was hospitalized for about 36 hours UMC. That dream is what made me go to the ER

can relate to a lot of what you are saying. I just don't talk about it to anybody.

I don't tell a lot of people that know me personally. It's been instances though where the people around me see what I sense.

I was laying on the couch one day when my ole lady was in the bedroom. She went to walk down the hallway and asked me how did I do that and was I trying to scare her. She said she saw me walk into the guest bedroom. Well I never moved off the couch, but i did sense something(it's a skin crawling feeling for me).

Another somewhat recent instance involved my daughter and a shoe. She was in the bouncer watching tv in the living room and I was doing some chores around the house. Well I had just cleaned everything up off the living room floor. The hair in my neck stood up and I heard a thud and my daughter stated screaming. I tan to her and my other daughters shoe was laying beside her bouncer. The shoe wasn't there 5 mins earlier.

My ole lady had a toy that in no way could have been moved, somehow move from our daughters bedroom to her vehicle. She was playing with it like 2 hours earlier and no one had been to the vehicle.

Another instance from like 5 years ago. I was having sex with this chick when I caught this eerie feeling. Right when I felt it, she said that someone just walked into the room(lights were off and it was pitch black). I knew what was going on but she was extremely upset. I cut the lights on and no one was there. I never did mention to her that I see spirits.

I also see the future, and it always revolved around w stressful event in my life. I never see the actual event, it's always a random conversation or sequence of events and that deja vu feeling. Sure enough, something drastic would happen in my life a little while after the dream events happening in reality.

My question to you is, were you born with a veil or caul over your eyes as people call it. I was and others I have met that was born with it say they are 'sensitive' but not always to ghosts. Some are more psychic. One poster here in a previous thread says that his mom was and she would always be able to find what others lost, like at keys and rings. I also have people that meet me for the first time and open up to me because they "feel like they've known me their entire life". Idk if it's related to my seeing of spirits or not, but it's possible that I not only make people around me comfortable, but those that have moved on comfortable as well, this they appear to me? I'll never truly understand how all of this works.

Something else interesting with me is this. I wear this gold necklace and gold cross pendent. I played college football with it under my pads, played pick up basketball with it, lift weights with it on, work on cars, daughter pulls on it m, etc. never breaks. But when im going thru hard times, it'll break while doing simple stuff, like in my sleep I'll roll over and it'll break. Like clockwork every single time.

Another interesting tidbit about me. The same moments where I was being born, the church my parents attended and that i would later attend burnt to the ground. No arson, just caught fire and burnt to the foundation.

Once when I was a kid I was checking out a new school with my mom. The building was a governors mansion and was around during the civil war. She took me by to see the building and check out the playground because we were in the area and it was just before dark. So we played on the playground for a little bit and got back in the car to leave. As we were driving off there was a man with a long beard standing in the upstairs window looking down at us and I knew something was not right with the situation but I never said anything. When I started going to the school it always felt like someone was watching us. And honestly I was terrified to be in the building by myself. Other people said that they had heard doors and cabinets open and shut but I never believed that shite. Come to find out 15 years later when I was talking to my cousin about it she said she had seen a man standing out behind a shrub on part of the playground and she described the exact same person that I remembered seeing but I had never told anyone about it(because you don't want to be labeled crazy before you have had enough time to see some shite that might frick you up for real) Here a few years back they found human remains sticking out of the side of an eroding hill at the back of the playground.
More recently I was at a candle light service at my church and the preacher had just got done saying a prayer and blessing the congregation and when I opened my eyes from the prayer I saw a golden human shaped figure in a robe turn from the body of the preacher and the pulpit and walk down the stairs and it disappeared before it got to the last step.

I may be insane and that's fine but I am sure I saw these things and keep in mind all these buildings were around and built 40 years before the civil war. I don't feel like the church deal had anything to do with the war though. But there have been countless times when the hair on my arms and neck would stand up and I just felt like somebody was watching me and when I turn around and look there is nothing there. Can't explain it and I don't subscribe to ghost being real but that shite felt real and makes you wonder.

Yes. I was sitting in my grandmas house that was built in the 1870s. Watching TV on the couch one night and saw a girl standing in the doorway going out to the hall. Closed my eyes and shook my head to make sure I was not hallucinating and when I opened them she was gone. Waited a few seconds and my hairs on my arm stood straight up and had goosebumps all over. Just an uncomfortable feeling. Turned to look behind me and the girl was right behind the couch. Her head was barely above the back of the couch and about a foot from the back of my head. She was staring at me and yelling but no sound was coming from her mouth. I sprung from that couch and into my grandparents bedroom in about 2 seconds. Never moved that fast in my life. I was supposed to be there a week but made my dad come get me the next morning. I was 16 but slept with my grandma that night and grandpa slept on the couch.

Why did I read this before going to bed?

That's some freaky shite.

I have a lot of similar experiences. It terrified me when I was little, and I slept in my parents' floor for years. Would start off in my bed, wake up to something crazy, and run. I still have the same experiences, but I have learned to control them for the most part. Every now and then, something will happen that catches me off guard. But, I have had 2 happy instances that I don't mind sharing.

1) My youngest son has special needs and was born premature. When we were able to bring him home, I was terrified something would happen to him while I slept. I'd fight sleep as long as possible and end up falling asleep in tears. And as I was lying there crying, I'd pray for God to send angels to watch over him. Well, one night I had this dream. My uncle was like my grandfather as my mom was an orphan and was raised by my aunt and uncle. We were very close, but he passed when I was pregnant with my oldest. He never got to see my kids. Well, in my dream, I was watching TV with my family when someone knocked on the backdoor. I walked around and opened it to find my uncle standing there. It didn't dawn on me in my dream that he was gone. I was just so happy to see him. I hugged him, and he said, "My old Punkin. I sure have missed you." (He is why I have my sn. I was always his "ole Punkin"). In life, he had bad arthritis in his back and walked stooped over a little. When I stopped hugging him, I said, "You seem taller." And he said, "I can stand up straight now." It didn't register with me in the dream. I just asked him to come in and meet my family. He said, "I can't stay, Punkin. I just came to tell you something. Stop crying. I hold that baby at night." And then I woke up. And I could smell him. So strong. Like someone had dropped a bottle of his after shave next to my bed. I burst into tears and called my mama and told her Uncle had visited me in my sleep.

Another time, again related to my son, it was the weekend before we got his big genetic tests back. I knew on Monday we were going to get a diagnosis, but I didn't know how bad it would be. I was a nervous wreck, to say the least. My SO and friends had taken me out to dinner to get my mind off of things. All week long, I kept thinking to myself that I needed to reread a particular book that gave me strength and hope. I had cleaned the house that afternoon, and everything was where it was supposed to be when we left. When we got home that night, we opened the bedroom door, and that very book was lying in the middle of my bedroom floor about 10 ft from the bookcase. The door was closed, so my dogs hadn't been in there. Plus, my books were packed tightly on the shelf. You'd have to work to pull it out. It couldn't just be knocked off. And I had little picture frames and knicknacks on the shelf in front of the books. Nothing was disturbed or moved. Just that book in the middle of the floor like somebody was telling me it was going to be okay. Maybe my Uncle was still holding him at night. Idk who. But, as soon as I saw the book, I felt this warm feeling come over me. I put it under my pillow and slept with it for the rest of the weekend.

7thWardTiger. I have no idea about the veil or caul. I do know at birth I was not breathing and had to be resuscitated for a bit. But that happens sometimes in births.

I can tell also when i'm not alone in the room. One time in college it was a late one Saturday night. My roommate was gone for the weekend. I just laid down and I knew something was next to my bed. I felt the hair on my eyebrows move as if someone took a finer and swiped across them. I ignored it and laid still. Then it felt like someone's finger was pushing down on my face and I could feel the pressure as my face went in a little. I opened my eyes and sat up and saw nothing. I knew it was gone.

I can relate here too. I have several recurring dreams when I was younger and several life changing events have happened 20 years later to me. Some of them are very minor. Such as some people at work saying something or doing something and then it happens just like in my dream in a day or two.

Forget these people who read palms or want to see into my future. I'm terrified what they will say or what they can sense in me. I avoid them at all cost. For the most part I ignore everything I see or think I see and that includes dreams. The house my wife and I just moved into has been giving me strange vibes though. Maybe I can use it as an excuse to move again.

Going to chime in my yearly sorta fix on these kinds of threads. I didn't read a thing other than the subject title.

Here is the science behind why people believe in crazy stuff, and the article is from word press so you know it's legit.

I didn't have to read this to know it's 100% true.

My brother told me he was driving home late one night. He looked over and saw my long-deceased grandfather sitting in his passenger's seat. My grandfather told him, "Wake up. (said his name,) wake up. Wake up." Just then, my brother woke up from sleeping behind the wheel.
